ESAB Rebel Review Product Review

The overall design of the machine is crucial, and there are, of course, aspects to consider about its construction.

A high-quality design is essential to a machine’s performance, which means it needs to be built well, but also built with efficiency in mind.

These are features you won’t have to compromise on with the ESAB Rebel. This is a multipurpose welding machine best seller in the category, and works great whether you want Metal Inert Gas Welding (MIG), Flux Corded Welding or Stick Welding.

But, that’s not all. You can use this machine for Tungsten Inert Gas Welding that is known as TIG.

This welder is strong enough for any light industrial projects or can be the complete home-based solution. I even used this machine on a shipyard for 8 months long, which gives an indication of its durability. Let’s look at some of its top features in more detail:

Multipurpose Performance

Having a multipurpose welding machine will allow you to incorporate a variety of welding techniques into your life, at your own convenience. While many brands may claim to be ‘multipurpose,’ the ESAB Rebel won’t let you down in this department.

This is due to its outstanding performance when it comes to all kinds of welding processes. The machine allows you to weld in all of the main ways that you’ll encounter, such as MIG, Flux-corded, Stick and Lift TIG. Its high-quality performance doesn’t fault regardless of the material, letting you take on mild steel, stainless or any aluminium metal.

‘sMIG’ Welding

One of the standout features of this product is its ‘sMIG’ capabilities. This means that you can set the thickness of the material and desired bead profile, and the machine will adapt accordingly to suit this. This smart function makes it ready for any kind of welding, straight out of the box.

For your convenience, this product features two user modes – one for beginners, and one for more experienced welders.

This function will reduce the amount of mistakes for beginners, such as running the machine either too hot or cold. You’ll be able to start your fast welding or switch projects faster with the sMIG feature.

However, even if you’re more seasoned in the art of welding, then this machine will be great for you. Experienced welders can use this machine’s sMIG function as needed, or modify the settings to suit different materials and save yourself time and energy.

For better arc stability, you’ll need to tweak the voltage and modify the wire speed, and the ESAB Rebel makes it all easy for you.

As mentioned previous, the sMIG setting will be determined by the type of metal you are welding, the thickness of the metal, and the wire you are using. It’s straightforward to get started, and you need to simply input these details to set your parameters with the Rebel’s sMIG function.

Once you’ve entered your metal type and wire thickness, the Rebel makes it easy to start your welding for all types of materials.

The TFT Screen

The welding machine has an innovative, 4.3-inch large high-density display, which helps to provide a clear view of the current welding status. It becomes even easier to understand how to use the machine, as both the user manual and the list of spare parts on the display is available in a variety of languages. This makes it an accessible, and easy-to-use model, suitable for all ranges of welder abilities (and nationalities)!

What’s in the Box?

As it’s a multi-voltage machine, there is a pigtail adapter included for your convenience. Included in the package is a gas hose, a sample pack of 30 ESAB wire, and a ground clamp and cable.

The regulator included will also be beneficial, to help you adjust the gas flow. This is not just a standard regulator either – I actually prefer this style of regulator with the floating ball, as I find that it helps with accuracy more so than a separate meter one.

It also features a pack of 6010 Stick electrodes, which you can use for when the machine is in stick mode.

You’ll also get a stick electrode holder and if you’re going to use it in TIG mood, you’ll get a TIG torch which connects everything you’d pretty much need for your TIG welding application.

In addition to this, the machine comes with a Tweco Fusion 180 MIG gun, and extra MIG gun parts kit with the contact tips.

With all of this gear included, it’s easy to see why you can use this welding device straight out of the box, and you won’t need any additional equipment to get started.

Summary

Throughout this Esab Rebel review, we hope you have been enlightened.

If you’re looking for a multipurpose, high-quality welding machine, then the ESAB Rebel is an excellent choice for welders of all abilities.

Its sMIG capabilities, along with its dual-user function, make it a worthwhile investment that should be able to handle whatever material you throw at it.

As you can see, there are several features to consider when purchasing the best welding machine for you. I hope this review has given you an insight into the features that the ESAB Rebel has to offer, and helps you in making your decision.
