Introduction

Kayaks have been used for thousands of years, but only recently have inflatable kayaks surged on to the market.

Their compact nature makes them much more practical than traditional hard shell kayaks.

They also tend to be a cheaper option than their hard shell counterparts and endure a similar level of stability once in the water.

Additionally, the durability of inflatable rafts has improved continuously over the years, to a point where they can almost compete with hard shell kayaks.

Inflatable kayaks are so sturdy now that they can be used for fishing or even white water rafting!

Today at Top Review Zone we’ll be taking a look at the Intex Challenger Inflatable Kayak, let’s get straight into the review and see what this product is all about!

Pros

  • Very affordable
  • Pump and paddles included
  • Low and stable

Cons

  • Lack of durability
  • Reports of water leaking in

Intex Challenger Inflatable Kayak Product Review

The Intex Challenger Inflatable Kayak is an excellent option if you require a budget-friendly kayak for two people.

This inflatable kayak is an extremely affordable option but still features plenty of the perks of higher-priced models.

One feature we like is the air pump and paddles coming free with the product; this is great as some of the more expensive inflatable kayaks don’t come with these included.

When it comes to handling, consumers have reported this inflatable to handle reasonably well due to its low-riding streamlined design.

The comfort of the kayak has been questioned, with some consumers suggesting that it is best suited to shorter excursions as the seating becomes uncomfortable after a while.

The weight of the inflatable raft is 34lbs, which isn’t too heavy for a two-person inflatable kayak. The product does come in a small duffle bag for ease of transit.

One of the main issues reported with the kayak is related to durability; some consumers have experienced problems with water leaking in through rips in the vinyl.

Another issue is that it only features two inflatable compartments, a rip in the sides/hull compartment could be very damaging to the stability of the kayak.

Despite this, the product is excellent value for money, particularly if you are new to kayaking aren’t planning anything too ambitious.

Summary

Overall this is an excellent choice if you require an affordable inflatable kayak from a company you can trust.

This product will be a perfect addition if you require a kayak for two people.

We also give this product a four-star rating, so it’s popular with consumers!
