Oregon Cordless 16-inch Self-Sharpening Chainsaw Product Review
The Oregon Cordless 16-inch Self-Sharpening Chainsaw is a premium-priced battery chainsaw, but we believe the fee is thoroughly justified.
The first feature you will notice with this saw is its length, at 16-inches it’s one of the longer models of cordless chainsaws, making it ideal for cutting through larger objects.
The size of this saw is not an issue as it weighs just 12-pounds, giving it maximum maneuverability and secure handling.
Battery life is often a crucial trait in what makes an excellent cordless chainsaw, and this one is no exception to that rule—providing between 250 and 600 separate cuts before needing recharging.
This product comes with a 2.6Ah battery, but for a higher fee, 4.0Ah and 6.0Ah batteries are available to increase both your cutting time and power.
These batteries are compatible with many other products in Oregon’s expansive cordless range of tools.
A keep component of any reliable chainsaw is the oiling system; a slick oiling system will increase the durability of a saw by lubricating the blade. This saw features an automatic oiler system from Lubri-tec.
Another feature that we like is the tool-less chain tensioning system. A small red knob makes it easy and convenient to increase or decrease tension on the chain.
Chains will always come loose over time, so this feature is excellent as it saves valuable time having to repair the chain with tools.
Oregon has gone the extra mile to make sure this product is easy to operate, and the saw can start with the simple pull of a trigger rather than a traditional pull cord.
Some customers have reported that this saw is rather loud compared to similar battery-operated models; however, this saw does remain silent in between cuts.
The last part we like is the overload protection feature; this ensures that if the motor is worked too hard, then it will shut off automatically.
Overall this is an excellent choice if you require a battery chainsaw with a long but robust blade.
A number of key features make this a high quality, durable product with excellent cutting performance.
The price may cause alarm, however, we think it is worth every last dollar!
